An Irish Blessing:
“May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!”
Welcome! This is my first blog post.* I love all things Celtic, so March 17th is a special day for me. I chose DAUGHTER OF IRELAND by Juilene Osborne-McKnight as my first featured book. It tells the story of the druid priestess Aislinn and the warrior-poet Eoghan, as they serve King Cormac mac Art at the time when Christianity is first introduced to pagans of ancient Ireland.
The author combines well-researched Irish history and Celtic mythology to create a vivid story. This is rich historical fiction with a touch of romance. I must admit that I read this book about five years ago and the exact details are now a bit fuzzy, but I do remember it touching my Celtic soul. It was the best choice to post on Saint Patrick’s Day. Have a good one!
