Joe Goldberg is back! He’s my favorite psychopath, the one I feel guilty about loving. HIDDEN BODIES picks up where the first book, YOU, left off. Joe is leaving New York behind and heading to Hollywood, the land of self-absorbed people, all of them “sick with aspirations.” Sure, Joe’s a creepy stalker murderer, but he can’t help it. Society as a whole is just so dang annoying. He’s really just looking for love. Joe’s astute observations and sarcastic wit had me snickering throughout this book.

A big reason why I love the You series so much is the brilliant audiobook narration by Santino Fontana. His performance as Joe is amazing, as well as the voices he creates for the secondary characters. If you’re planning on reading this series, I highly recommend going with the audiobooks.

I enjoyed HIDDEN BODIES as much as YOU, though I do think the first book was creepier and more suspenseful. The second time around, Joe seemed more charming and relatable, which I suppose would make someone like him more dangerous! I’ve got my fingers crossed for a 3rd book.
