Where is your favorite place to read during the summer?

Inside where it’s cool. I always think I’m going to sit outside with my new reader sunglasses and read, read, read! Then I get out there, and bugs, heat, and sunburn become an issue fast, lol. In the spring and fall, I do like to sit on my front stoop and read while it’s in the shade. What about you?

  1. When I was younger it was always on the beach or on my deck but, these days it’s indoors – bug and sweat free indoors LOL

  2. I like to read outside in the summer when on vacation. That being said, our vacations are usually at cooler locations than my home state of Texas. We’ll be in the mountains of New Mexico next week and you’ll find me on a porch reading or I hope so anyway.

  3. On our upper porch at the lake cabin, high in the trees. It’s almost like a tree house. My husband installed a ceiling fan, and it keeps the bugs away. :D

  4. I am exactly like you. I like to read outside if I can but the bugs. Here in California we have these tiny baby mosquitoes that you don’t even see but their bites leave marks and make for a very unpleasant week. If I am on the beach I must be reading. But most of the time I hole up on my living room couch with the pup. It’s by a big window so it FEELS like I am outside but protected and comfy with AC. At night, before bed I will grab a few chapters in bed. Now that I have a pop socket on my Kindle I no longer risk dropping my Kindle right onto my face.

  5. I had to laugh because I’m the same way. We have a really nice swing that’s outside in a shady spot and it just seems like the perfect place to read – except for the fact it’s 100 degrees with high humidity even in the shade AND the mosquitoes and other bugs are always hunting me down. I love the IDEA of reading outside but in actuality a/c and no bugs wins every time!

  6. LOL! I got new reader sunglasses this summer, too! I like my porch because it’s shaded and pretty much bug free until afternoon – so it’s a good morning spot.
