Beyond the Blog:

I’m working on a new fitness program this summer — Jessica Smith’s 6 Week Total Transformation System on DVD. It has ten 30-minute workouts that include aerobics, strength training, stretching, and more, plus a calendar that shows you what workout to do each day. I started it on May 15 because I wanted to have time to complete it twice before works starts again in August. It’s tough, but I’ve been able to stick with it so far. Will I be totally transformed? Haha, no. But I’m hoping it will help me build some muscle and flexibility.

I’ve been watching Ghosts, both the UK version (the original) and the US spinoff. It’s about a woman who inherits her family’s old manor home, only to discover it’s haunted by a group of quirky ghosts. She can see them, but her husband cannot. I love this series so much. Both versions are utterly charming and funny. Makes me want a group of ghosts friends if they would respect privacy boundaries! :-)

SMILE BEACH MURDER by Alicia Bessette

“[A]n all-new mystery series featuring Callie Padget, a former reporter turned bookshop clerk in the Outer Banks who is pulled into a deadly web of secrets when a mysterious fall at a lighthouse echoes a tragedy from her past.”

  1. I have yet to watch Ghosts, but I’ve heard good things about it. I didn’t know it was also a British show! I may check out that version first!

  2. I love Jessica Smith’s workouts! I’ve done a number of them on YouTube and they are some of my favorites. I really enjoyed We Were Liars but haven’t picked up the prequel yet. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Well done with the fitness, yes harder to get in when you go back to work, but if its well established by then it’ll help. Smile Beach Murder looks good.

  4. I started going back to the gym a few weeks ago. I wasn’t quite mentally ready to go back in a covid world but physically I needed to get moving again. Luckily, I’m able to go in the middle of the day when it’s practically deserted so that helps. I’m still working on making it a fundamental part of my daily routine but I do mentally and physically feel better after a workout. I hope you build a routine that works for you this summer.

I saw ads for Ghosts and then forgot about it! I thought it looked good. Thanks for the reminder to look for it. I also didn’t know there was a British version.

    Have a great week!

  5. I JUST saw an add for Ghosts and thought it looked good. Didn’t know there was an original British version. Will have to check them out! The husband’s reactions seem to be the best part.

  6. I’m listening to The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma. I should be finished today *fingers crossed*

I love Jessica Smith’s workouts! I’ve been doing her YouTube videos for years. I had a back injury and almost every workout was too much for me but hers were easily adaptable and she had a lot of beginner videos which I needed at the time.
