Mid-Fall Update — Hello out there…

I’m linking up with It’s Monday! What are you reading? Thank you for hosting, Kathryn!

Hi, all. It’s been a while since I’ve checked in on the blog, and I wanted to do so before Thanksgiving (next Thursday!!). Seems like every fall my reading and blogging slows down for one reason or another, and the same is true this year.

I’m getting over a bout of Covid (my first). It felt like a nasty cold, which wasn’t pleasant, but I know it could have been much worse without the vaccine. While I’ve been home sick, I’ve gotten lots of online Christmas shopping done. Add to cart!!

I did so-so with the R.I.P. XVII reading challenge. I read six books, but only really enjoyed a couple of them. Standouts were THE PLOT AND THE PENDULUM by Jenn McKinlay (cozy mystery) and THE GHOST OF DROWNED MEADOW by Kelley Skovron (middle grade horror).

Here’s a photo of my Halloween tree, which I just took down today. I love “Falloween,” it’s my absolute favorite season, but it just goes by way too quickly.

My TBR cart! I’m behind on my BOTM selections. I’ve heard wonderful things about THE CHANGE, THE CLOISTERS, and WHITE HORSE. And also VERITY and SPELLS FOR FORGETTING from the second shelf.

I’m currently reading STEEPED IN SECRETS by Lauren Elliot, the first book in the Crystals & CuriosiTEAS mystery series. I love a good paranormal cozy mystery.

It’s this sweet and silly girl’s birthday this weekend. Ginger is turning 10 years old! We’re fixing her favorite meal, grilled salmon and peas, so she can have a few bites. ♥

Until next time, take care. — 𝓓𝓲𝓪𝓷𝓪

  1. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been sick but so glad it was mild! Your Halloween tree is fantastic. My son is obsessed with Pusheen and so I’m going to have to look for those ornaments. I love your TBR cart. I’m looking around my office now for a place to put something like that. It’s so perfect. Have a wonderful week and a happy Thanksgiving!

  2. I hope you’re feeling better now. Love your Falloween idea! Fall is my favorite time of year, too. I’ve heard a lot of good things about The Plot and the Pendulum. I have not even begun to read that series yet, but just yesterday I borrowed the first one. So I’m looking forward to reading it soon. Have a great week! :-)

  4. Love your Halloween tree, first time I have seen or heard of one. Good to know your Covid experience wasn’t too bad, but not good all the same. Great library cart and well done on the shopping!!

  8. Glad you are getting over your illness. Hope you are back in tip-top shape now. Happy birthday to Ginger!

We love fall around here, too. I was so busy I didn’t put up my fall tree this year. I need to learn how to schedule things better.

Love your TBR cart. I might consider investing in one of those myself. My current way to store them looks messy, and that way I could bring them down to my bedroom instead of keeping them in my office.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. I appreciate your visit to my blog.

  9. Just a quick hello to you! Sorry you’ve been ill, but glad you got some shopping done. I see a lot of the same books on your BOTM shelf as are on mine – not surprising as we often like the same types of books, right? Hope you guys had a nice Thanksgiving. I’m hoping to be around a bit more in upcoming days – commenting on other blogs anyway. LOL
